About the clinic
Victoria has worked in healthcare for over 25 years, practising for nearly 20 years as a Hearing Aid Audiologist. She is a qualified Microsuction Practitioner and owner of Pro-earcare, an independent provider of earwax removal.
Microsuction offers a safe and effective solution to earwax removal, bringing relief from symptoms such as hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and ear pain. At Ninesprings Natural Health Centre, you will receive a warm welcome, and a professional service.
During your appointment your ear health and relevant general health will be discussed and both ears thoroughly examined. With a binocular microscope and a bright light enabling a clear view of the ear canal, earwax is gently removed using a sterile, low pressure suction device. In the event of there being no earwax, we can discuss your symptoms and further referral to other services may be recommended.
Pro-earcare operates from a Yeovil based clinic. Evening and out of hours appointments are available on request.
The excessive production of ear wax affects 1 in 15 in the UK and can now and then be inaccurately assumed to be a loss of hearing.
The over accumulation of ear wax is a naturally occurring process to protect your ears from the harmful intrusion of dirt and other small objects.
Ear wax is there for a reason. It keeps the skin of the ear canal healthy and normally works its own way out. Trouble starts when it builds up and blocks the canal: your hearing goes muffled, the ear feels full, and some people get itching, earache, ringing or dizziness.
Softening drops are the usual first step. The NHS suggests 2 to 3 drops of medical-grade olive or almond oil, 3 to 4 times a day for 3 to 5 days, unless you might have a hole in your eardrum. If the ear is still blocked after that, book in for removal with a clinic in Yeovil.
Try not to dig the wax out with cotton buds or fingers. They tend to push it deeper and can scratch the canal, which makes it harder to remove. Our guide to the signs of ear wax build-up explains what to look out for.
