Ear wax removal
We use microsuction, a safe and advanced technology-driven method. A low-pressure suction tube is gently inserted into your ear under the precise guidance of a high-definition video otoscope.
Your appointment typically lasts up to 45 minutes, and afterward, you can continue your day as usual.
If you prefer an alternative method, we also provide irrigation for wax removal.
How to prepare for your ear wax removal appointment in Thornton-Cleveleys
Ahead of your appointment, it is recommended to soften the wax using Olive Oil drops, such as Earol, unless you are certain that you have a perforated eardrum.

When to book ear wax removal in Thornton-Cleveleys
Ear wax is there for a reason. It keeps the skin of the ear canal healthy and normally works its own way out. Trouble starts when it builds up and blocks the canal: your hearing goes muffled, the ear feels full, and some people get itching, earache, ringing or dizziness.
Softening drops are the usual first step. The NHS suggests 2 to 3 drops of medical-grade olive or almond oil, 3 to 4 times a day for 3 to 5 days, unless you might have a hole in your eardrum. If the ear is still blocked after that, book in for removal with a clinic in Thornton-Cleveleys.
Try not to dig the wax out with cotton buds or fingers. They tend to push it deeper and can scratch the canal, which makes it harder to remove. Our guide to the signs of ear wax build-up explains what to look out for.
